Tough conversations at St Kilda after defeat to Crows

St Kilda speedster Brad Hill admits there were some tough conversations at Moorabbin after their thumping loss to Adelaide.

The Saints' defensive structure came unstuck against the Crows at the Adelaide Oval last Sunday as they conceded 19 goals and lost by 52 points.

St Kilda are on the road again this weekend, taking on GWS at Giants Stadium on Sunday in a genuine danger game for Ross Lyon's team.

After being on top of the ladder, the Saints have dropped three of their last five games to drop to sixth.

"There are some things that we need to work on," Hill said this week at the AFL's launch of Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

"Adelaide's a very good side, especially over there. They're a hard team to beat and they seem to always get off to some flying starts and their first quarter was good.

"We struggled to get back into the game so there a few things that we'll look at going to fix up."

St Kilda lost Tim Membrey to concussion during the trip to Adelaide, but they welcome back star forward Max King for his first game of the season in a major confidence boost for the Saints.

King booted 52 goals last season and is sure to prove a problem for the Giants' undermanned defence still without star backman Sam Taylor and veteran Phil Davis.

Important players Jade Gresham (knee) and Jimmy Webster (cheekbone) are also back for St Kilda after time out with injuries.

GWS (3-6) welcome back captain Toby Greene after missing the last two games with an ankle injury.

Greene was the matchwinner against Sydney three weeks ago despite hurting himself early in that contest.

Greene was selected alongside fellow inclusions Kieren Briggs and Jake Riccardi for Sunday's Giants Stadium encounter.

Matt Flynn, Callum Brown and Daniel Lloyd were all dropped for GWS.
