Touching detail in Louis, Charlotte and George's Coronation outfits honours grandfather

As grandchildren of King Charles III, Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte all had a very important part to play in the Coronation, and royal fans were thrilled to see them supporting their grandfather at Westminster Abbey.

All three young royals looked very smart indeed as they joined their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, at the historic service this weekend, and fans are now noticing something very special about their outfits.

Prince George, the eldest of the three, had a starring role in the ceremony as one of the king's pages of honour and could be seen carrying his grandfather's regal robes during the procession.

The nine-year-old prince, who is now second in the line of succession, wore a traditional military-style uniform in pillar box red, complete with gold trim and buttons.

Middle child Princess Charlotte, who recently celebrated her eighth birthday, looked just like mum Kate's mini-me, wearing her very own ivory Alexander McQueen gown with embroidery detail, as well as a matching headpiece adorned with sparkling leaves.

Cheeky Prince Louis, who turned five last month, looked adorable in a blue tunic with special lace embellishments on the collar, cuffs, and fronts.

Although their outfits couldn't be more different, royal fans are now realising they have a touching symbolic meaning. When viewed all at once, the outfits represent the red, white, and blue colours found in the Union Jack.

One approving person tweeted: "Love how Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are in red, white, and blue for the Coronation."

Another applauded: "Got to love that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were dressed in red, white, and blue for the King's Coronation."

A third wrote: "Of course, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are in red, white, and blue."

A sweet video shared via the Prince and Princess of Wales' Twitter account shows behind-the-scenes footage of the young royals laughing and smiling delightedly as they head out to The Coronation.

The footage also shows the Waleses standing together on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, waving happily to well-wishers below alongside the newly crowned King and Queen.
