Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has been reluctant to blood young players in his first team this season but the club has a number of promising youngsters on the fringes of the squad and in the academy.
Conte, to his credit, has always had the mantra that if you're good enough, you're old enough so Spurs' young players will be hoping to be given more opportunities in the New Year.
Here are three Spurs youngsters to keep an eye on in 2023.
Bryan Gil
A couple of lively cameos in the Champions League have raised the possibility of Gil being more involved in the second half of the campaign.
The Spanish winger, 21, is still raw but might be a solution to Spurs' creativity problem when Dejan Kulusevski is missing.
Conte remains sceptical, however, and Gil will have to bulk up before convincing the manager he is ready to play in the Premier League. A loan move back to Spain still feels the more likely outcome.
Pape Matar Sarr
An appearance against England in the World Cup last-16 was a reminder that Sarr is still a Spurs player after failing to make a single appearance in the first half of the campaign.
At just 20, time is on the young midfielder's side but he needs a loan move to an English club in January.
With some experience of English football and a better grasp on the language, Sarr has the technical quality to potentially be an asset for Spurs at the start of next term.
Dane Scarlett
Having earned rave reviews from Jose Mourinho, who gave Scarlett his Spurs debut, the teenage striker is now being praised by Danny Cowley, his manager at loan club Portsmouth.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye in League One, despite clearly still being a long way from the finished product. A loan in the Championship appears the logical next step but there are high hopes for Scarlett at Spurs.
