Spurs are looking for an immediate reaction when they play hosts once again on Sunday afternoon to a Wolves side who have gone under the radar in the Premier League top four race.
The Lilywhites lost their most recent Premier League outing in midweek as Ralph Hasenhuttl's Southampton inflicted Antonio Conte's second league defeat of the season courtesy of a late and inspired comeback.
Tottenham, having been 2-1 up rather fortuitously it must be said, conceded twice late on from free headers from Mohamed Elyounoussi and Che Adams respectively.
Two goals that in the end meant that Ralf Rangnick's Man United side got away with one after they also dropped points against Burnley on Tuesday, but the Red Devils did take a point away from Turf Moor.
Tottenham's opponents this weekend are a side that have gone under the radar in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have been strong defensively and have caused plenty of teams problems this season.
It is a challenge therefore that will test the credentials of a Spurs side who have had mixed success this term when facing teams who play a low block when in the defensive phase.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has already warned the side from N17 what to expect when the West Midlands club make the trek back to the capital on Sunday for the second time in three days having faced the Gunners on Thursday prior to this fixture taking place.
"They’ve been really consistent and really efficient throughout the season, that’s what the league table is showing and the performances that they put in," the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
"It’s going to be a really difficult opponent, we are going to be playing them twice (this month), but we are difficult too."
With injury issues to contend with too, including the fact that Conte is expected to once again be without the trio of Eric Dier, Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga, coupled with tough away trips upcoming with Manchester City, Burnley and Leeds on the immediate agenda, this is certainly a must win for Tottenham if they are to eventually make the cut for the top four come the end of the season.
Spurs have already got the better of their next opponents on two separate occasions earlier this season - a 1-0 away win in the Premier League under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo and a dramatic penalty shootout win in the Carabao Cup.
