Tottenham vs Sporting: Kick-off time, prediction, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results - preview

Tottenham entertain Sporting Lisbon tonight seeking to seal their spot in the Champions League knockout phase with a match to spare.

Defeat at home to Newcastle saw fans angrily vent their frustrations at the full-time whistle, with Antonio Conte reiterating after the game that Spurs are some distance from a title challenge. Not advancing in the Champions League, though, is almost unthinkable given the circumstances.

Sporting claimed the reverse fixture last month with two late goals but Spurs have won 10 of their last 11 home games - including that recent defeat to Newcastle - so will need to be at their best to pile further misery on Spurs in north London.

Tottenham vs Sporting CP prediction

Spurs played some of their best football of the season before Newcastle’s controversial opener at the weekend, but the lack of response will have concerned Conte. His squad simply need to improve in midweek and have the tools to do so, and should do with a knockout stage spot up for grabs.

Sporting are depleted, along with Spurs, but missing numbers in defence and in key man Goncalves will prove the difference.

Spurs to win 2-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Sporting’s 2-0 win over Spurs last month was the first meeting between the two teams.
