Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bounce back quickly after a disappointing defeat at home against Newcastle United at the weekend which saw Antonio Conte pick up back-to-back defeats in the Premier League after going on a three match winning run before that. Spurs welcome Sporting CP from Portugal who have dropped their form in Europe since they last met the hosts in the reverse fixture.
Spurs are the heavy favourites at 9/20 with Betfred while Sporting are a distant 6/1 and a draw is 18/5. The Portuugese giants have only picked up two wins in their 15 trips to England in European competitions - with four draws and nine losses - with their last win coming 17 years ago when they met Middlesbrough in the UEFA Cup.
Visitors Sporting CP currently sit third in the group stage after back-to-back defeats to Marseille and Eintracht Frankfurt meaning that only three points separate Spurs at the top with the Bundesliga side at the bottom of Group D. A repeat of Sporting's performance in the reverse fixture will certainly mean a drama-filled gameweek six next week.
