Tottenham v Nottingham Forest live: Visitors dominate relegation battle as Spurs collapse continues

Crisis-hit Tottenham Hotspur remain without a Premier League win in 2026 as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest, who moved three points clear of the drop zone.

Igor Tudor’s side were unable to build on the momentum from their Champions League win over Atletico Madrid in the week, despite a stirring show of support by thousands of fans welcoming the team bus before kick-off.

Spurs were dominant throughout the first half but failed to take advantage: eight corners came to naught but Forest scored with their second.

A fine Neco Williams delivery found Igor Jesus, with the Brazilian slotting home on the stroke of half-time. Spurs’ misery was compounded in the 62nd minute as Callum Hudson-Odoi cut the ball back to an unmarked Morgan Gibbs-White, with the player who very nearly moved to north London in the summer instead ensuring they fell further behind.

Taiwo Awoniyi came off the bench to add a third with a simple tap-in from a Williams cross, with home fans streaming out of the stadium in familiar scenes as Spurs’ season-long collapse continued. The result sees Forest leapfrog Spurs into 16th, while Tottenham remain just a point clear of the relegation places.

No plan, no fight and no way out: What next for floundering Tottenham after latest collapse?

18:00 , Ben Bloom

What now? As the Tottenham hierarchy contemplate whether the emergency removal of Igor Tudor might be necessary to avoid the very real prospect of a humiliating relegation to the Championship, the club’s 58,000 fans who watched their latest – and perhaps most damning – disastrous defeat now find themselves in a quandary.

They have tried walkouts – both of the organised variety and on impulse halfway through a particularly dreadful loss against Crystal Palace little over a fortnight ago. They have repeatedly, vocally, made their anger clear over the course of a dismal campaign. Now their final roll of the dice failed to yield any sort of response from their comatose players.

No plan, no fight and no way out: What next for Tottenham after latest collapse?

'Painful, sad day' - Cristian Romero

17:50 , Flo Clifford

Cristian Romero tells Sky Sports: “The season is tough, especially in this moment. Another very bad [result] for us, another lose the game at home. The first thing is for the fans is thank you for today and every day as they stay with us.

“The situation is tough but most important thing is play like a final now. It is a bad season, obviously the first responsibility is with me.

“The first half we were good but the second half we lost the confidence and lose the ball.

“It is painful, it is a sad day but the most important thing is go national team then come back here for the final seven finals.”

'Spirit of the team, the character, the personality' - Vitor Pereira

17:41 , Flo Clifford

Here’s what a very pleased Vitor Pereira has had to say. “It means the spirit of the team, the character, the personality. It was not easy.

“We started in a good way with the ball playing good football, but after 15 or 20 minutes, we start to lose some long balls, the first and second balls, they crossed a lot… they play aggressive on the duels.

“On the throw-ins, they tried to create problems and with the corners. In the end, the first half was difficult.

“At half-time, I asked the team to play the same way that we started the game because it’s our game [to play] with the ball, not without the ball.

“But without the ball, be compact, find the proper moments to press them and they did that with personality, character and quality. We deserved to win.

“It is not just about this game, it’s about the next seven games. We need to have this personality, playing with our arguments, with the ball because we have quality.

“I’m happy with the team and with the supporters because they deserve [it]. They came here to support us and send the energy we needed to get the three points.”

'It wouldn't be Nottingham Forest without ups and downs' - Morgan Gibbs-White

17:30 , Flo Clifford

Asked about scoring against Tottenham after nearly joining them in the summer, Gibbs-White says: “I wouldn’t say written in the stars. I’m just trying to do the best I can to help this team. I’ve shown that since the very first day I came here.

“It’s been an incredible journey and I think it’s right to say it wouldn’t be Nottingham Forest without this many ups and downs.

“It’s not been clean sailing, but we all stick together and we push through. We showed that out there today. I’m pleased to get on the scoresheet but more important is the three points.

“They could have come back after half-time and scored straight away so to settle it down to 2-0 gave us the breathing room.”

'You can see how much they are fighting' - Bruno Saltor

17:20 , Flo Clifford

Bruno Saltor explains why he is stepping in for Igor Tudor: “Personal matters, family matters and I am stepping in as it is not right time for him to speak.”

He continues: “Every mistake right now is going against us, every detail is going against us and it affects the players as well.

“You can see how much they are fighting. We are in a difficult situation, everyone knows. In the first half we were the better team and need to be consistent with that.

“We were 1-0 down and wanted to be a little more aggressive with players coming back from injuries. It didn't work as planned but it was our intention.

“It hurts us, it is painful, really painful, but the fans were outstanding today - from before the game until the end of the game.

“We need to carry on because we care, we care for Spurs, we are family and want to get out of this situation.

“I am 100% sure we can get through this situation.”

Igor Tudor suffers family bereavement

17:10 , Flo Clifford

News coming in that Tottenham boss Igor Tudor did not undertake his customary post-match duties after he was informed of an immediate family bereavement after the game.

His assistant Bruno Saltor has stepped in.

'Defended with our lives today' - Morgan Gibbs-White

16:58 , Flo Clifford

Morgan Gibbs-White says this win is “absolutely huge”.

“There was a lot of worry going into this game about the outcome, but the boys were incredible.

“We defended with our lives today. We knew we had to bring that fight, energy and commitment out of us and I think the boys showed that in abundance today.

“Delighted to get the three points because it creates a bit of a gap now, but we can’t just focus on that, we need to keep looking forward and focusing on the next game.”

'Huge boost of confidence' - Elliot Anderson

16:51 , Flo Clifford

Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson tells Sky Sports: “Away from home, it’s tough against their fans, but it was all about the fight and determination out there today and to a man, everyone was outstanding.

“It’s a huge boost of confidence going into the international break with a bit of a break for us to freshen up.”

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

‘90+5: Igor Tudor has his arms folded on the touchline and looks impassive. Will he even be in the dugout for Spurs’ next game?

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

16:09 , Flo Clifford

‘90+2: Five minutes added on. Gibbs-White makes way for Dominguez.

DOUBLE SAVE! Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

16:07 , Flo Clifford

‘90: Solanke takes a touch and volleys; it’s a great attempt and even better save.

Sels makes another excellent save by thumping away Solanke’s header from the corner, and Kolo Muani is crowded out attempting to get the rebound.

Awoniyi picked up a yellow, by the way, for whipping off his shirt in celebration of that goal.

GOAL! Tottenham 0-3 Nottingham Forest

16:05 , Flo Clifford

‘87: Game over.

It’s a superb long ball forward by Sels; it finds Williams on the left blank, and his great cross is met by the onrushing Awoniyi in the centre of the box. Off the bench, simple tap-in.

One Spurs fan in the crowd has the universal ‘if you don’t laugh you’ll cry’ expression on his face.

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

16:04 , Flo Clifford

‘86: Of the last 21 points available Spurs have taken one. The fans are beginning to drift out of the stadium. It’s not been a terrible showing by the standards of recent weeks, there’s just nothing to show for it whatsoever.

OFFSIDE! Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

16:01 , Flo Clifford

‘84: Tottenham are looking a bit more alive. Bergvall clips it in for Porro at the back post, who just about keeps it in; Sels claims, but the flag goes up for offside anyway.

Now Spurs make their final change: Gallagher is on for Gray.

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:59 , Flo Clifford

‘82: Udogie goes into the book for leaving it late on Ndoye.

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:57 , Flo Clifford

‘80: Another change for Forest: Hutchinson comes off for Ndoye.

WIDE! Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:55 , Flo Clifford

‘78: Sarr lets fly a right-footed strike and Sels can’t see the flight of the ball through a congested box - but it takes a deflection and goes wide!

Porro sends in the corner, but it’s eventually claimed by Sels.

WIDE! Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:53 , Flo Clifford

‘75: Great ball by Udogie, who whips the ball from the left channel to Bergvall - but he can’t control his finish and it dips wide!

Forest carved upon there and there is certainly hope for Spurs.

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:49 , Flo Clifford

‘72: Simons sends the ball looping well over and out, to the glee of the Forest supporters at that end.

The home fans have been silenced.

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:47 , Flo Clifford

‘70: Simons has an immediate impact, winning a foul and free-kick in a central area. It falls to Danso but he miscontrols it at the byline and that’s the end of that.

Forest have been readying changes and they happen now: Yates, the hero in midweek who took the Midtjylland tie to penalties, and Awoniyi come on. Jesus and Hudson-Odoi - goalscorer and the man with an assist - come off.

(Bradley Collyer/PA Wire)

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:44 , Flo Clifford

‘67: Tel has limped off and the ineffective Richarlison has been hooked too. Kolo Muani and Simons are on.

Porro eventually takes the corner but Murillo hooks it away.

(Getty Images)

Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:43 , Flo Clifford

‘66: Milenkovic and Murillo have been rock-solid at the back and the former reads a Porro cross excellently, heading it behind at the near post. Spurs have a corner but corner-taker Tel looks to have pulled something in his thigh.

(Getty Images)

GOAL! Tottenham 0-2 Nottingham Forest

15:40 , Flo Clifford

‘62: Gibbs-White doubles the lead! The player who very nearly moved to Tottenham last summer is the latest to add to their misery.

Forest make the most of a period of possession, Hudson-Odoi goes out wide, then gets to the byline, cuts it back for Gibbs-White who is unmarked in the centre of the box.

Vicario throws himself at it but gets unlucky, the ball passing under him and into the back of the net.

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:36 , Flo Clifford

‘58: Williams sends in a dangerous inswinging cross but none of his teammates are on the same wavelength.

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:34 , Flo Clifford

‘56: Bergvall sends a looping ball to Tel at the far post but just puts too much juice on it. Tottenham are threatening again.

Tel jinks inside again, it’s worked to Gray on the edge of the box; he has one shot deflected back to him, then opens his body up but blasts a second into the stands. The right idea.

(REUTERS)

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:31 , Flo Clifford

‘54: Porro sends in the resulting free-kick but it’s too far out and Romero nods it wide. Think the delivery on that could have been better.

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:30 , Flo Clifford

‘53: Spurs have another corner, their first in this half, but as in the first half they can’t make it count.

Sangare finally gets a yellow, and the Spurs fans make it known they think he should have been booked earlier.

SAVE! Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:27 , Flo Clifford

‘50: The atmosphere is a fair bit flatter.

Ooh, Anderson sends in a great ball, the unmarked Williams dives for the free header, sends it arcing towards goal and Vicario palms it away! A big save.

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:23 , Flo Clifford

‘45: Udogie’s first action is to lose possession. Danso makes a rather clumsy challenge on Hutchinson, but it’s not too serious.

SECOND HALF: Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:22 , Flo Clifford

So an extra body in midfield for Spurs with the addition of Bergvall, with Porro back at right-back.

Here we go!

SECOND HALF: Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:22 , Flo Clifford

‘45: Can Spurs find a way back?

Two changes for the home side: Bergvall and Udogie are coming on for the next 45, Spence and Van de Ven are the players coming off.

Boos greet Michael Oliver as he comes out.

HALF-TIME: Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:08 , Flo Clifford

Igor Jesus’ third Premier League goal of the season is the difference at half-time.

Spurs were on top for the vast majority of that half, with eight corners, but failed to make them count and Forest were clinical with their two set-pieces.

Spurs didn’t let their heads drop though and Forest have a fight on their hands in the upcoming half.

(Getty Images)

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:06 , Flo Clifford

‘45+3: No penalty is the decision, just two players grappling for the ball.

Half-time, and the boos ring out - more for Michael Oliver than for the Spurs players, you’d think.

PENALTY? Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:05 , Flo Clifford

‘45+2: A superb strike by Tel, he rattles the crossbar and Sels pushes it over the bar as it drops!

But Williams has his hands on Romero’s back and Spurs want a penalty! VAR are checking...

Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:04 , Flo Clifford

‘45+1: Two minutes added on and Tottenham are desperate to respond. Sarr has a low strike blocked.

GOAL! Tottenham 0-1 Nottingham Forest

15:03 , Flo Clifford

‘45: That means Forest have another corner - and they strike!

It’s a great delivery by Williams, lobs it into the back post, Jesus rises highest, and nods it back across goal! Vicario stranded!

Forest in dreamland.

OVER THE BAR! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

15:02 , Flo Clifford

‘45: Williams heads it in. Romero heads away but Anderson keeps it alive, finding Jesus, who goes for an acrobatic bicycle kick of sorts which Vicario tips over the bar!

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

15:01 , Flo Clifford

‘44: Forest win a corner... their first to Spurs’ eight so far.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

15:00 , Flo Clifford

‘43: Gibbs-White wins a free-kick but Anderson’s short routine doesn’t pay off.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:58 , Flo Clifford

‘40: Despite all that it’s still goalless, and you get the feeling Spurs might have cause to regret failing to capitalise on that dominance later. Hutchinson’s early attempt has been the only one on target so far.

(AP)

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:54 , Flo Clifford

‘37: Sangare is playing with fire after leaving his studs on Gray and now he brings down Solanke with a cynical foul. He concedes a free-kick but Michael Oliver is roundly booed for not dishing out a yellow.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:52 , Flo Clifford

‘35: The latest Tel corner is dealt with by Jesus. Spurs are really applying some pressure now.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:51 , Flo Clifford

‘34: It’s the Mathys Tel show. He has the beating of Milenkovic as he runs onto a long ball forward and tries to keep it in at the byline, but it thuds off the boot of a defender. Another Spurs corner.

Milenkovic heads it out.

CLOSE! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:50 , Flo Clifford

‘32: Tel has been busy. He whips a lethal ball to the back post but Williams does just enough to put Richarlison off.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:49 , Flo Clifford

‘32: Tel sends in another corner; Milenkovic heads it away but not far enough. Richarlison sends it looping onto the roof of the net but it took a touch off a Forest shirt on the way out, so Spurs will have another chance, this time form the other side.

Richarlison does his best to get there but it’s not such a good delivery this time.

OFFSIDE! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:46 , Flo Clifford

‘29: Elsewhere Aston Villa have done both these teams a favour by opening the scoring against relegation candidates West Ham.

Spence finds Richarlison who lashes a low cross across the face of goal, but Solanke can’t get to the back post in time! Anyway, the flag goes up.

(REUTERS)

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:43 , Flo Clifford

‘26: Spurs win a free-kick in their own half as Anderson tackles Porro in a manner the ref disagrees with.

Vicario takes it, goes long... Van de Ven runs onto it down the left and is brought down by Aina at the byline, but Oliver isn’t impressed by the penalty shouts and it turns out he’s right to not be. A Forest shirt sent the cross behind in any case.

The resulting throw-in is dealt with and Hutchinson tries to counter... Gray is there to deal with the danger.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:40 , Flo Clifford

‘23: Gray still looks to be feeling that but is trying to run it off.

PENALTY?! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:39 , Flo Clifford

‘22: A risky challenge by Aina on Sarr but referee Michael Oliver immediately, frantically waves his hands to say no penalty. Sarr (to his credit) gets back up immediately after being brought to ground and tries to recycle.

Boos ring out now as there are three players on the deck: Gray looks to have an ankle or shin issue and if that’s serious it’s dreadful news for Tottenham.

CHANCE! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:36 , Flo Clifford

‘18: After a sustained period of Spurs pressure Forest have their first real chance, but Vicario saves a low Hutchinson strike aimed at the near post.

(Getty Images)

HITS THE POST! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:34 , Flo Clifford

‘16: A busy couple of minutes and nervy moments for Forest. Danso sends in a dangerous long throw. It comes off Jesus and looks to nestle in the far corner but bounces off the woodwork and Richarlison is blocked from reaching the rebound!

WIDE! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:32 , Flo Clifford

‘15: Forest rank 18th in the league for goals conceded from corners...

It’s a well-worked routine, Gray tries to keep Williams occupied at the back post so Richarlison can head in - but it glances wide.

CLOSE! Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:31 , Flo Clifford

‘14: Spurs threaten! Gray sends a lovely looping pass to Tel’s feet; Tel darts and dives into the box but Anderson makes a block and the ball deflects wide!

Spurs have a corner... it’s over-egged and misses the many Tottenham heads in the box. They’ll have another.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:29 , Flo Clifford

‘12: Captain Romero is taking the goal-kicks for Vicario, who is playing on despite having surgery on a hernia scheduled for next week.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:28 , Flo Clifford

‘11: Forest break at speed. Hutchinson looks to get in behind, it looks like he’s clipped by van de Ven.

Hudson-Odoi bends in a cross to Gibbs-White at the back post but it’s overhit.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:27 , Flo Clifford

‘10: Jesus rises highest at the near post to thump it clear.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:26 , Flo Clifford

‘9: Forest are passing the ball about confidently and have certainly made the stronger start.

Aina nudges the ball behind though as a cross aims to find Solanke and Spurs have the first corner.

(Action Images via Reuters)

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:23 , Flo Clifford

‘6: Anderson goes down in the box but the penalty shouts are very weak as Danso gets the ball. VAR says no.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:23 , Flo Clifford

‘5: Murillo stops Spence in his tracks down the right flank.

Both sides are playing like they have a point to prove.

Tottenham 0-0 Nottingham Forest

14:20 , Flo Clifford

‘3: Little bit nervy in here. Gray - a ray of light for Tottenham this season - tries to build something in the middle of the park but it breaks down.

Now Gibbs-White crosses in for Jesus but Danso does well to block his strike!

What the stats say

14:01 , Flo Clifford

Nottingham Forest have four wins in this away fixture, including a 2-1 victory last season.

Both teams are on fairly poor Premier League winless runs: Tottenham are winless in 12, their third-longest run in history, while Forest are winless in seven.

Vitor Pereira admits he will prioritise Forest’s Premier League fate over Europe

13:50 , Flo Clifford

Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira will prioritise next week’s crunch clash with Tottenham ahead of the Europa League after his side dropped two points in a 0-0 draw with Fulham.

The Premier League visit to north London could have a massive bearing on their relegation fate and Pereira admits he will select his side accordingly in midweek.

“I need to rotate the team because it is the third game after three days,” he said after seeing his side climb out of the relegation zone after the stalemate.

Nottingham Forest climb out of relegation zone after goalless draw with Fulham

13:40 , Flo Clifford

Last time out in the top flight, Nottingham Forest climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone, but they will see the 0-0 draw against Fulham as a missed opportunity.

Their lack of goals at home is making their survival task so much more difficult: they have now found the net just twice in seven Premier League games in front of their own fans after drawing another blank.

Midtjylland missed all three of their penalties in a decisive shoot-out as Nottingham Forest overcame a first-leg deficit to book their spot in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Forest had trailed 1-0 heading into the second leg but registered a 2-1 away victory in Denmark before prevailing 3-0 on penalties.

Goals have evaded Forest for the best part of a tough campaign but they made their quality count on a couple of occasions and then again from the spot to set up a quarter-final clash with Porto.

Igor Tudor explains why Tottenham take ‘confidence’ into relegation showdown with Nottingham Forest

13:20 , Flo Clifford

Interim Tottenham Hotspur manager Igor Tudor insists his players now have “a lot of confidence” ahead of their match against Nottingham Forest after the spirited Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.

“The sensations are mixed because you don’t like to not pass [into the next round] but it was a very good performance after quite a long period," Tudor said. “This commitment behind, there was quality in front, a lot of running, a lot of good things.”

The interim manager added that he believed the fans “were proud of the team”, adding that the players “hope this can continue on Sunday”.

Nottingham Forest team news

13:15 , Flo Clifford

Vitor Pereira makes one change from the side that drew with Fulham last weekend, having completely reshuffled his pack for the Europa League win over Midtjylland.

Omari Hutchinson starts, while Nicolas Dominguez drops to the bench after starting the last four games. Callum Hudson-Odoi missed out entirely in Denmark but is back in the starting XI, as are Murillo, Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson and Igor Jesus, who were on the bench.

Tottenham team news

13:12 , Flo Clifford

Tudor makes three changes from the midweek win over Atletico Madrid, with Kevin Danso replacing Radu Dragusin in defence and Dominic Solanke and Richarlison - who both missed the Champions League game - coming into the front line.

Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani drop to the bench, while Joao Palhinha makes the substitutes after recovering from a concussion.

The big news is that keeper Guglielmo Vicario, who is set for surgery on a hernia after this game, will play through the pain.

Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in line for shock recall due to Guglielmo Vicario surgery

12:50 , Flo Clifford

Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky could be thrust back into action for the relegation-threatened side after Spurs confirmed Guglielmo Vicario will undergo surgery on a hernia in the next week.

Kinsky was replaced just 17 minutes into Tottenham’s defeat at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League after making two errors in a disastrous performance. The 22-year-old Czech, who was given a rare start by interim boss Igor Tudor, now appears set for a shock, enforced, recall.

Vicario will undergo surgery following Tottenham’s crucial relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with Spurs adding the surgery has been timed “to have as minimal impact on our season as possible”.

Tottenham summon admirable fight to leave Liverpool as the club in crisis

12:40 , Richard Jolly

Literally and figuratively, Igor Tudor is no longer pointless. The Tottenham manager lost his unwanted 100 per cent record, got his first result to savour and, just perhaps, brought the first signs of a revival that may save a beleaguered club. Spurs’ club-record run of defeats is over, halted at six after their first draw in six weeks. For Liverpool, an inability to beat a club seemingly in crisis could come at a cost. They are stumbling when they could have strolled back towards the Champions League.

How Igor Tudor’s reign of error turned huge corner as Tottenham remembered how to win

12:30 , Will Castle

Four days after emerging from pointlessness, Igor Tudor is now no longer winless. His interim reign of error at Tottenham is finally finding its purpose, eight days on from the Croatian appearing a complete and utter lost cause.

Spurs are out of the Champions League but akin to fellow relegation candidates Nottingham Forest, there is the valid argument that Europe could be a very unwanted distraction from survival. With Spurs fans in full voice, still in their seats at the full-time whistle, victory on the night feels far more important than defeat in a tie.

How Tudor’s reign of error turned huge corner as Spurs remembered how to win

How the table looks

12:18 , Flo Clifford

Tottenham sit 16th going into this fixture, winless in the Premier League in 2026 but having nicked a point against Liverpool in their last top-flight fixture and beating Atletico Madrid in a valiant last stand before exiting the Champions League this week.

They sit on 30 points, with 17th-placed Forest and 18th-placed West Ham both just behind on 29, so either one of these two teams could slip into the drop zone with a loss today if West Ham win.

Spurs’ injury list remains hefty with James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, Ben Davies, Lucas Bergvall and Mohammed Kudus all still absent.

Vitor Pereira is waiting for his first league victory since taking over as Forest’s fourth coach of the campaign while the team have not taken three points in any of their past eight fixtures, though there have been battling draws against Manchester City and Fulham in their past two outings.

And with West Ham playing at the same time away to Aston Villa, both teams know they could end the afternoon with a buffer to the bottom three or stuck deep in the mire with only seven more matches to play.

Tottenham’s low confidence may have been boosted by their valiant second leg against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night but nothing less than a win to ease their relegation fears will be demanded when fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest visit north London on Sunday lunchtime.

Igor Tudor saw Spurs win for the first time as interim head coach as they still bowed out of the Champions League on aggregate. However he will be hoping that they can take some momentum into a vital meeting against Forest, whom they are ahead of by a single point in the table and will have had 24 hours less rest following their Europa League trip to Midtjylland on Thursday evening.
