Tottenham U23 player ratings: Jack Clarke and Harvey White impress but Spurs left frustrated

Josh Olumayemi

It was a mostly quiet game for the goalkeeper with not too much to do. He made a couple of comfortable saves in the first half and made a good stop with his foot, just before half-time, in what seemed like a late reaction. There wasn't much he could do about the goal after the a mistake from his defender. As Blackburn tried to get the winning goal, the Spurs shot stopper made some good saves to prevent this. 6

Kallum Cesay

The defender did well contributing to both ends of the pitch. He got forward for shots, trying to help his side in attack. Cesay also put in some solid tackles at the back and did well to stop a Blackburn cross just before half time. However, his poor defending led to the equalising goal and his part in the scuffle led to his red card after the final whistle. 5

Malachi Fagan-Walcott

Fagan-Walcott did well in the middle of defence to deal with much of what was being thrown at him. He made a couple of good sliding tackles and made a solid clearance with his head in the first half and blocked a Blackburn shot in the final ten minutes. 7

Tobi Omole

Omole was also solid in the back line with some good passing, as he tried to help make an impact with his side's attacking flare. He stayed calm when clearing the ball after Blackburn attacks and made a good tackle on the last man in the first half. Both central defenders did well to stay strong in the second half, despite pressure from the opposition. 7

Matthew Craig

Craig did well down the left flank, managing to stay with the Blackburn wingers. He also played his part in getting the ball forward and tried to make runs to get into space where he could. He struggled to make a great impact in the second half but did what he needed to defensively. 6

Brooklyn Lyons-Foster

After being brought down after just five minutes, Lyons-Foster tried to carry on but was taken off in the eighth minute and replaced with Michael Craig. N/A

Alfie Devine

Devine made some great impact in the middle of the field. He ran with the ball well and played some good passes out to the flanks. His quick passing and quick movements helped him add creativity in the game. 7

Harvey White

The captain also played his part in controlling the midfield and helped to be an effective link between the defence and attack. He moved around the pitch and got in some good positions, as well as getting back to help his side when there was added pressure in the second half. 8

Romaine Mundle

It was a slow start for Mundle as he struggled to make an impact. Brown was quicker than him down the left-hand side and he was shoved off the ball a couple of times. However, his overall game got better as the half went on and he put in a couple of good crosses during the game, but was replaced after the hour mark. 6

Jack Clarke

The goalscorer finished well into the bottom of the Blackburn goal for Tottenham's only goal of the game. On a number of occasions he received the ball in the middle of the field and dribbled with it into the attacking half. He tried to find a winning goal before he was replaced in the 85th minute. 8

Dane Scarlett

Some great pressure from the forward, with quick closing down and some brave tackles. He had a very wide shot in the second half but also got in some good positions to try and make an impact but just couldn't find the back of the net. 7

Substitutes

J'Neil Bennett (Romaine Mundle, 68)

Made a couple of good runs down the left-hand side when he came on and tried to get some crosses into the box but couldn't make great impact. 5

Michael Craig (Brooklyn Lyons-Foster, 8)

He replaced Lyons-Foster inside the first ten minutes so played most of the match. Craig played some good balls to his twin brother out on the left and did well to get out of some pressurising situations, staying calm when clearing the ball. 6

Yago Santiago (Jack Clarke, 85)

Replaced the goalscorer in the final five minutes of the game. N/A
