football.london takes a look at the latest Tottenham transfer rumours on Monday, February 28.
Who: Sven Botman
Where: Daily Star
What: According to reports, Tottenham are 'desperate' to land Sven Botman in the summer after competing with Newcastle for a move for the Lille defender in January.
The move is thought to be primarily to satisfy Antonio Conte, who is said to have mixed views of the club's business in the winter window.
Botman, 22, is a left-sided centre back who is also left-footed which would fit the bill perfectly for what the north Londoners are currently lacking in Conte's 3-4-3 system with full-back Ben Davies currently performing the role.
Conte is reportedly demanding that they sign the Dutchman, who is 6ft 5in and won the French Ligue 1 title with Lille last season, playing 37 games in the triumph.
With his colossal frame and classy technical skills having come through the famed Ajax academy, he has already been cited as the next Virgil van Dijk and would come at a cost of roughly £30 million.
With a move to the Premier League in the summer likely for the centre-half, the Spurs hierarchy will be keen to beat Newcastle to the signing of one of Europe's top defensive prospects.
Who: Franck Kessie
Where: Daily Express
What: Spurs have been keen on AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie since Conte took the reins at Spurs, and with the Ivorian's contract up in the summer it could be a perfect signing to bolster the club's midfield ranks.
The club have now been handed a boost with the news that the 25-year-old would reportedly prefer a move to Spurs or Barcelona rather than a move to Arsenal, as had previously been reported.
The 25-year-old is currently locked in talks over a new contract at San Siro but the club's hierarchy appear to be losing faith in the long-term future of the midfielder.
One stumbling block could be the interest of Barcelona, who will be looking for a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets with Kessie perfectly suited to a holding role as well as part of a double-pivot, which is preferred by Conte.
A technically gifted but defensively solid midfielder, he could be perfectly suited to the Premier League and well-set to provide a long-term partner to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should a free transfer come to fruition.
