Luck seems to come in threes for Tottenham. With two of their underperforming Premier League stars being linked already with Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone is now being linked with a third.
Clearing the decks is a vital part of the “project” Antonio Conte has been persuaded to take on by Daniel Levy as he looks to rebuild Tottenham into title contenders. The rapid changeover of managers since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino has left a number of out-of-favour players in the Spurs squad at a time when Levy has given Conte the green light to invest.
Luckily, managing director of football Fabio Paratici seems to have found a wholesale route.
IT TAKES THREE TO TANGANGA
Clearly impressed with their last import from White Hart Lane, Kieran Trippier, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone cannot get enough Spurs talent.
He has already been linked with a permanent move for Giovani Lo Celso after his successful loan spell in La Liga last season with Villarreal and Emerson Royal has also been the subject of interest.

Now home-grown defender Japhet Tanganga has been listed as another Simeone target by Mundo Deportivo after struggling to reestablish himself in the Spurs first team following injury.
Tanganga was given his head by Mourinho when he first broke through to the Premier League squad but struggled in some of the recent game under Conte, whose willingness to let him go will be tempered by the fact he is an important part of the quota of home-grown players.
NO WAY JOSE
Clement Lenglet is a player who has been linked with a loan move to Tottenham, but they had looked in danger of losing out to Mourinho when it was reported in Goal that his AS Roma hierarchy were happy to back him to make a permanent move.
It turned out that this was news to the Serie A club, and the pendulum has swung back towards the Premier League club winning the chase - although Barcelona are in no hurry to sell.
MAIN MAN STILL IN THE BALANCE
Ultimately, when some of the furniture has been taken care of, Tottenham can focus on their main recruits and reports suggest they are still weighing up a couple of marquee signings.
Spanish publication Sport say that Arsenal are cooling on their hunt for Leeds’ Raphina, putting Tottenham in pole position despite interest from Barcelona. However, Paratici is also said to be in regular contact with Everton ’s Richarlison, with the decision ultimately set to be between the two.
