Tottenham fans will be exited about the prospect of Antonio Conte having a first pre-season and summer window to shape his squad after his impact last term after arriving in November.
He is now seeking to revamp the club's squad ready for the Champions League and get players committed to his intense style of play and physical demands. Deals for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma have been done early but clearing the decks is also a vital part of the “project” Conte has been persuaded to take on by Daniel Levy as he looks to rebuild Tottenham into title contenders.
The rapid changeover of managers since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino has left a number of out-of-favour players in the Spurs squad at a time when Levy has given Conte the green light to invest. Mirror Sport has rounded up the latest Tottenham transfer news and rumours.
Bergwijn snubs Everton
Steven Bergwijn wants a return to Holland after claims the Dutch international attacking ace was reportedly offered to Everton as part of the £60m deal which took Richarlison to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Ex-PSV Eindhoven ace Bergwijn, 24, wants a transfer back home as he looks to play regular football ahead of the World Cup. Everton have also been linked with the ace as report De Telegraaf but Bergwijn is said to prefer a move to Ajax due to the Dutch champions being able to offer Champions League football.

Lenglet loan move
Spanish title Marca report Spurs are close to reaching an agreement with Barcelona for the loan signing of Clement Lenglet for next season. The defender has told the Catalan club of his wish to go to London after talk of potentially going to Roma to play under Jose Mourinho. Lenglet has made Tottenham his first-choice option as they will play in the Champions League next season. The discussion at the moment is how the player's wages will be paid. Barcelona want the English club to pay the entire fee but Spurs are pushing for part to be paid by the Catalans. Barcelona would like to wrap up the deal before next Monday when Lenglet is due to report for training. They currently have seven centre-backs including Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, Oscar Mingueza, Samuel Umtiti and Andreas Christensen.
Palace defender on radar
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is reported to be one player on Tottenham's centre-back wishlist. The England international made 36 Premier League appearances last season, starting in all of them, becoming a key player under Patrick Vieira. Football London claim that defenders with physical presence are key to Conte's thinking with regards to his backline and that 21-year-old Guehi, who was born in the Ivory Coast but has won three caps for England's senior side, fits the bill.
