Your morning Tottenham transfer round-up on Wednesday, February 1.
Matt Doherty leaves Tottenham to clinch Atletico Madrid deadline day transfer
Matt Doherty has left Tottenham Hotspur to join Atletico Madrid on a free transfer until the end of the season with the north London club mutually agreeing to terminate his contract.
Doherty was expected to leave on loan earlier in the day but with Spurs having eight players now out on international loans, the limit in FIFA rules, they had to end the Irishman's contract, which ran until 2024, in order for him to complete the move. The right wing-back's switch to the Spanish capital will give him the opportunity to feature regularly after finding himself in and out of Antonio Conte's team this term.

Djed Spence seals Rennes loan move from Tottenham amid Atletico Madrid interest
Djed Spence has departed Tottenham Hotspur to join Rennes on loan for the remainder of the season. Only moving to Spurs from Middlesbrough back in July after excelling in his year on loan with Nottingham Forest, the Lilywhites had given the green light for the right wing-back to leave on a temporary basis before Tuesday evening's transfer deadline after a lack of playing time in N17.
Unable to move ahead of Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty in Antonio Conte's thinking, Spence has only featured in six games for Tottenham since his summer switch, totalling 41 minutes in the process. Given his need to be playing week in, week out if he is to become a success at Tottenham in years to come, the 22-year-old has linked up with French outfit Rennes for the rest of the campaign.
Tottenham confirm Pedro Porro transfer from Sporting CP as second January arrival
Tottenham have completed the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting CP. The right wing-back joins Spurs as their second signing in January after Arnaut Danjuma joined the club on loan from Villareal.
Porro has signed a five-and-a-half year contract in north London and joins on an initial loan deal with Tottenham having an obligation to buy him as part of the agreement in a deal worth 45m euros (£39.5m). He will wear the number 23 shirt. As football.london reported ahead of the January transfer window, Spurs were targeting a new attacker and right wing-back and the arrival of Porro completes their winter window priorities.
