Having conducted so much business earlier this summer, things have slowed down at Tottenham of late.
While Daniel Levy has previously been renowned for coming alive at this stage of the window, the story at Spurs over the last few weeks has been one of outgoings, with Antonio Conte himself admitting that was the club’s priority.
Still, even after seven signings, Conte is keen on another creative player to add to his already impressive frontline.
With all that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Tottenham transfer news and rumours.
Leeds respond to Dan James interest
Daniel James has reportedly emerged as a somewhat surprise Spurs target.
The Welshman’s pace is said to appeal to Conte even despite all of his options in attack, though Leeds are in a strong position financially having already sold Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.
According to Football Insider, Leeds have stressed James is simply not for sale.
Trevoh Chalobah another shock target
With Clement Lenglet through the door to strengthen a backline containing plenty of options, Spurs fans will surely have been forgiven for thinking their business was done in that department.
Still, Standard Sport’s very own Nizaar Kinsella has revealed Conte is keen on a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.
The defender could be forced out should Welsey Fofana arrive at Stamford Bridge, although Inter Milan are Roma are also interested.
Ruslan Malinovskyi loan move considered
While Nicolo Zaniolo appeared to be a major target a few weeks ago, Roma now look destined to keep him.
As such, Spurs have been strongly linked with Atalanta midfielder Malinovskyi.
According to Sky Sports, the club have attempted a loan deal but the Serie A side will only consider a permanent transfer.
At this stage, that does not appeal to Spurs, who are reluctant to spend big on players approaching 30.
