Tottenham told to cash in on Harry Kane as Chelsea copy £88m Bayern Munich striker transfer plan

Tottenham Hotspur have been told that selling Harry Kane for £88million in the upcoming summer transfer window would be good business. The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from the club as Chelsea and Bayern Munich look to bolster their respective frontlines.

It's said that the German giants are looking to finally replace Robert Lewandowski after the striker swapped the Allianz Arena for the Camp Nou in July. According to Munich-based newspaper TZ, Julian Nagelsmann's side are prepared to spend £88million on the international, who sees his deal at Hotspur Way expire in a little under two years.

Meanwhile, Todd Boehly is eager to make a number of statement signings to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues believed to be specifically targeting Premier League players. According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs on The Football Terrace, an offer for Kane will be considered by the west Londoners.

And, former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that £88million would be good business. Speaking to Football Insider, he said: "I think £88million for a player with 12 months left on his contract would be good business.

"Regardless of who you are, that is a big transfer fee considering you are into the final year of your contract. That would be a pretty good deal for Spurs. Do not get me wrong though, Spurs have to exhaust every opportunity to tie him down to a new deal. He is invaluable and in many ways irreplaceable.

"There are few players in the world on his level. To replace him is almost impossible. They have to do everything they can to get him to sign a new deal. If he doesn’t sign one, £88million would be a great deal. Clubs allow players to leave on a free far too often.

"It really frustrates me when clubs don’t protect their assets. Knowing Spurs, I’m sure talks are already going on behind the scenes about Kane’s future. You do not leave something like that to the last minute."

Kane has featured 10 times for Spurs in the Premier League this season, directly contributing towards 10 goals. His impressive displays have guided the north Londoners into the top-three as Antonio Conte eyes more silverware on British soil.
