Tottenham are set to appoint Southampton's head of academy recruitment Jack Chapman to a similar role.
Chapman is due to start working at Spurs later this summer, having joined Saints from a similar position at Swansea in August last year.
Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs head coach, has said the club have "a lot of work to do in our academy" and called for changes.
"I don't think we have the production line other top clubs have, certainly not," Postecoglou said in February.
"Even currently that’s why we’re investing in some younger players, even for the first team. For us as a football club that's definitely the way forward."
Meanwhile, Spurs are pushing ahead with their summer rebuild and are in talks with Tanguy Ndombele about terminating the final year of his contract.
Ndombele has been sent out on loan to former club Lyon, Napoli and most recently Turkish club Galatasaray since joining Spurs in a £60million deal in the summer of 2019.
Spurs will also listen to offers for Giovani Lo Celso, who cost £55m in the same summer as Ndombele and has a year remaining on his contract.
The Argentine is attracting interest from Spanish club Real Betis.
