Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has been named the Young Player of the Year at the Confederation of African Football Awards.
The 19-year-old joined Spurs last summer but spent the season on loan at Metz to continue his development.
He was unable to stop the club being relegated from Ligue 1 but made huge strides personally, breaking into the Senegal national team setup.
Sarr, a defensive midfielder, made five further caps including one at the Africa Cup of Nations in January, which Senegal went on to win.
The teenager is now back at Spurs for his first pre-season with the club, playing in both fixtures in South Korea against K-League All Stars and Sevilla and earning solid notices.
The future is here! 💫
