Tottenham's next four fixtures before World Cup compared to Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd

Tottenham's winning run came to an end at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as Antonio Conte's formation change backfired.

Goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes saw Spurs lose 2-0 against Manchester United as the Lilywhites failed to close in on north London rivals Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table. Spurs had won their last three games in all competitions but looked a shadow of themselves against United as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were starved of any service in attack.

Hugo Lloris was called into action multiple times and if it wasn't for the World Cup winner, Spurs may have ended the night losing by five or six. Conte will be hoping he sees a much better performance from his players against Newcastle this weekend with the Magpies just five points behind the Lilywhites.

Here, football.london take a look at Spurs' next five league fixtures and compare them to Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Newcastle (H) - October 23

Eddie Howe's side have only lost one game so far, with many tipping the Magpies to have an impressive campaign due to the backing Howe received in the transfer market. Spurs were utterly dominant in a 5-1 win over the Magpies in April, however.

Bournemouth (A) - October 30

The Cherries are proving to be no pushovers under interim boss Gary O'Neil, with the Dorset club unbeaten in five games since Scott Parker was sacked at the end of August. Bournemouth have only lost two of their nine league games and those loses were to Arsenal and Liverpool.

A trip to the Vitality Stadium at the end of October will be Tottenham's first there in over two years, where they last drew 0-0 while failing to register a shot on target.

Liverpool (H) - November 6

A game against Liverpool is never easy, but Jurgen Klopp's side are failing to hit the heights they have shown in previous campaigns. The Reds have won just four times this season and have dropped points to the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton.

Last season's clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Leeds United (H) - November 12

Spurs' final game before the Premier League takes a break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar could prove to be a tricky test.

Leeds showed against the Lilywhites' north London rivals Arsenal that they can cause problems and the Whites may have taken points off the Gunners on another day. Last year's fixture against Leeds finished as a 2-1 win for Spurs as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon both scored after Daniel James' strike saw the visitors take the lead.

Arsenal's next four fixtures:

Southampton (A) - October 23

Nottingham Forest (H) - October 30

Chelsea (A) - November 6
