Tottenham defender Ben Davies is facing a short period on the sidelines after sustaining a hairline fracture to the bone just underneath his knee. Recalled to the starting XI on Tuesday in the Champions League at Sporting CP and playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat, the Welshman is not part of the Spurs squad for Saturday's Premier League match against Leicester City.
Davies did go to ground with a knock midway through the first half in Lisbon but managed to play on with the problem for the rest of the game after receiving treatment for a couple of minutes. However, the injury will now keep him out of action for the next three weeks.
As a result, the 29-year-old will miss out on Wales' UEFA Nations League matches against Belgium and Poland next week. football.london understands that Tottenham have withdrawn their player from international duty, but the Welsh FA have yet to confirm that the ex-Swansea City man will be absent for their two fixtures.

There will then be question marks over whether Davies will be fit enough to return in time for Tottenham's North London Derby clash at Arsenal immediately after the international break. Spurs are then back on the pitch three days later with a Champions League tie at Eintracht Frankfurt on the agenda.
The absence of the experienced defender for this evening's clash against Leicester City sees Clement Lenglet comes back into the side to start on the left of the back three for the third time in four games. Speaking to the media ahead of this evening's game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Conte opened up on Davies' injury.
"He had an injury in his knee in the game against Sporting Lisbon, and he played with this injury," he told Sky Sports. "Not a serious injury, I think, after the international break because, with the national team, he is not available. But I think after the international break, he will be available for us."
