Tottenham ratings vs Chelsea as first-half woes leave Spurs with third defeat of season

Tottenham Hotspur fell to a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as goals from Sam Kerr, Erin Cuthbert and Guro Reiten consigned Rehanne Skinner's side to their third league defeat of the season.

Despite a promising start to the match in which Jessica Naz and Drew Spence found themselves with half-decent chances, an inability to capitalise on those chances left Spurs ruing their defensive errors and the 8-0 drumming of Brighton feeling like a very distant memory. The defeat leaves Spurs fifth-place in the table and drifting further away from the table leaders, while marking their sixth WSL derby defeat to the Blues.

TINJA-RIIKKA KORPELA

Was kept on her toes throughout the match and despite some good early saves, the 36-year-old could only do so much to keep out the Chelsea onslaught.

AMY TURNER 4

It was a tough day for Turner who found herself constantly trying to combat the relentless waves of Chelsea attack. The second half saw her work incredibly hard.

MOLLY BARTRIP 4

The 26-year-old did well to handle Guto Reiten early but she could do little stop Kerr's low-fired opening effort from going in. Barring the deflection, she worked hard to keep the left side of Spurs' defence solid but ultimately Chelsea's firepower proved too much.

SHELINA ZADORSKY (C) 4

Like the rest of the backline, she struggled to keep Chelsea's attack at bay and found herself caught out by the consistent pace of Sam Kerr and co.

ASMITA ALE 4

Struggled to impart herself on the game and was constantly called into defensive duties. Tried to get forward when she could.

ANGHARAD JAMES 5

The Wales international served as Spurs' fulcrum in midfield, with much of Spurs' best chances coming through her. James did well to get forward to combine with the attacking line but was forced to defend as Chelsea continued to push forward.

EVELIINA SUMMANEN 4

Was plenty busy in midfield against Sophie Ingle and co but worked hard to patrol her area and looked to get forward and try to make something for Spence. Used her strength well but was caught out a few times as Chelsea broke forward.

ASHLEIGH NEVILLE 5

Her usual fiery self on the left touchline and pushed up high to give Chelsea's Guro Reiten something to deal with. Yet, Neville's few shots at goal were tame and dealt with simply by Ann-Katrin Berger in the Chelsea goal.

CELIN BIZET 5

The 21-year-old received an early caution for her challenge on Guro Reiten but she offered moments of promise in attack and showed confidence on the ball. Failed to handle Chelsea's Jess Carter and was subbed with 20 minutes to go.

JESSICA NAZ 6

The only change from the Spurs side that thrashed Brighton 8-0. Looked to use her speed to get in behind Chelsea's defence and create problems, and was a reliable threat for Spurs in attack, particularly linking up with Spence. However, the few half-chances that did drop her way couldn't be capitalised on.

DREW SPENCE 5

A return to her former club was a mixed bag for the 30-year-old. She dropped deep to help out in defence and linked up well with Angharad James in midfield, but the cutting edge was sorely lacking.

Rosella Ayone 4

Came on for Bizet. Had a difficult time trying to get anything beyond Chelsea's Jess Carter.
