Tottenham confirmed the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting CP on deadline day of the January transfer window. The Spanish wing-back was winter target number one and after weeks of negotiations, where the deal stumbled and very nearly fell apart, Antonio Conte finally got his man that Spurs so desperately need.
The late announcement of Porro, which didn't arrive until nearly 11pm on Tuesday, caused some concern that something had once again gone wrong, but thankfully his arrival was sealed with a creative announcement video from the club.
Earlier in the day, three departures from north London were confirmed with youngsters Djed Spence and Harvey White sealing respective loan moves to Rennes and Derby County respectively. Following that was the surprising permanent departure of Matt Doherty who had agreed a mutual contract termination with the club so that he could join Atletico Madrid.
