Tottenham are yet to do any business in the January transfer window. Antonio Conte has admitted he needs reinforcements and Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici have less then 10 days to get to work.
Here's your morning digest for Sunday, January 22.
Weghorst snub
It has been revealed that new Manchester United signing Wout Weghorst could have made the move to N17 instead. But Spurs turned down the chance to sign the Burnley man.
The 6ft 6in tall striker has revealed that he attracted interest from both Spurs and Arsenal before both north London clubs decided that he was not for them. Weghorst signed for United instead - finally proving he was worth a shot at a top club following his impressive displays for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar.
“Two seasons ago there was serious interest in me from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal," the United loanee said. "It was concrete - but in the end, they didn’t follow through."
Spurs supporters protest against Levy
There was a planned protest outside Tottenham's training ground at Hotspur Way on Saturday. It was a protest against owners ENIC and chairman Daniel Levy.
Messages such as 'Profit before glory' and 'Build our team not your portfolio' were held aloft by angry supporters outside the Enfield training ground.
Frustration has grown amongst the fanbase due to recent results on the pitch, with Antonio Conte cutting a frustrated figure on the sidelines durng many matches. The protest was a peaceful one and there were not understood to be any problems.
Fabio Paratici decision explained
Juventus have been accused of fixing their balance sheets by artificial gains from club transfers and despite Juventus denying any wrongdoing they were handed a 15-point deduction for this season in Serie A.
Paratici got the biggest individual ban for what the court saw as his part in it all with a 30-month temporary ban from carrying out activities within the FIGC.
When contacted by football.london about their involvement in whether Paratici's ban will be extended across Europe, UEFA stated that there was also an ongoing investigation.
