Your morning Tottenham Hotspur digest on Wednesday, December 7.

Tottenham line up two friendlies as Antonio Conte prepares players for Premier League return

Tottenham have lined up friendlies against Motherwell and Nice this month, football.london understands, as Antonio Conte prepares his team for the return of the Premier League.

Spurs have not played a match since November 12, a 4-3 victory against Leeds United, as the winter World Cup threw a six-week break into the middle of the Premier League season. Rodrigo Bentancur injury extent revealed ahead of Spurs return

Spurs fans feared the worst as they saw their star man leave the pitch in tears just weeks before the Premier League resumes.

Reports have suggested that Bentancur has torn his abductor and could be out until the new year. The Spurs midfielder has been one of the standout performers for Antonio Conte this season and will be a huge miss to his squad.

The 25-year-old will look to recuperate ahead of Tottenham’s return to action against Brentford on Boxing Day, just under three weeks from now. The estimated recovery time for a torn abductor is between three to four weeks so it could be that Bentancur does not miss any Premier League action for Spurs.

Real Madrid target Son Heung-min transfer

Real Madrid are monitoring Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son at the World Cup as they weigh up a move for the 30-year-old.

Despite his poor start to the Premier League season, Madrid were particularly impressed by Son’s performance against Portugal, according to Defensa Central. Real see Son as a potential option as they look to refresh their attacking ranks, though it is hard to see Tottenham being willing to sell Son anytime soon.
