Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Monday, January 9.
Forest hijack Spurs transfer plan
Tottenham have been handed a huge blow in the race to sign Watford star Ismaila Sarr as Antonio Conte looks to bolster his strike force. The 24-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League after the Hornets were relegated last season.
football.london understands that Spurs have been monitoring Sarr's progress in the Championship. It's believed that a deal for the Senegal international, who sees his contract at Vicarage Road expire in 18 months, could be explored further in the next month or so, with his versatility across the frontline a key selling point.
But, according to the Mirror, Nottingham Forest are plotting a move of their own for Sarr. The newly-promoted Premier League side are considering whether or not to move in for the winger, who could cost a pretty penny with Watford likely wanting to recuperate the £40million they paid for him.

Robbie 'Keane' for Portsmouth role
Former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane has declared his interest in becoming the new Portsmouth head coach. Spurs locked horns with the League One outfit in the FA Cup third round and waltzed away 1-0 victors.
According to Sky Sports, the 42-year-old has applied for the role, which was made vacant following Danny Cowley’s departure on Monday. If Keane were to prove successful in his application, the Portsmouth job would be his first managerial position.
The report states that the Irishman Keane was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday. It's also worth noting that Spurs wonderkid Dane Scarlett is on loan at Portsmouth until the end of the season.
Real Madrid hijack Spurs deal
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid have tabled an offer to sign to sign Spurs target Pedro Porro from Sporting. The 23-year-old right-back has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League as he continues to impress for the Portuguese giants.
football.london understands that Conte has two priorities in the January transfer window; to sign a new attacking player and a right wing-back. It's believed that the north Londoners will be looking at both permanent and loan deal in order to grant the Italian his wish.
Spurs are said to hold strong interest in the former Manchester City youngster, with Fabio Paratici a fan. But, there are doubts that Porro could struggle to meet the physical demands of Conte's wing-backs.
