Nicolo Zaniolo bid 'rejected'
It seems as though the Italian's audition in Israel against the Lilywhites went down well with Fabio Paratici. Although Spurs seemingly want to make the 23-year-old their seventh summer signing, indications are that they may fail as Jose Mourinho's side remain adamant in their stance.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato via Sport Witness, Tottenham have seen another request for information regarding Roma’s Zaniolo rejected outright by the Serie A outfit. The report goes on to indicate that as it currently stands, Spurs will not splurge £50million on the midfielder with Roma holding firm on their valuation. Whether future negotiations can lead to a breakthrough remains to be seen.

James Maddison hope restored
Leicester City's latest James Maddison move could spell positive news for both Arsenal and Spurs as the pair remain hopeful in the transfer races for two of the Foxes stars whose futures will depend on other outgoings.
According to Toon reporter for Sky Sports Keith Downie: "Second Newcastle offer for James Maddison rejected by Leicester. Newcastle deciding whether to continue their pursuit of Maddison or move on to other targets. They don’t want to overpay for players due to FFP regulations."
The fact that Eddie Howe's side could move on to other targets will be music to the ears of all London clubs, in fact. For the Lilywhites, Newcastle moving on would give them a free run at landing Leicester's number 10 if they were to step up their pursuit in the forthcoming days amid their Nicolo Zaniolo preference.

Behind the scenes of Spurs' final day of their Israel pre-season tour
It was like a clash of Tottenham past and present in the area around the dugouts and the tunnel at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa on Saturday night.
Both locations showcased the difference in emotions before, during and after a match. Before the game, Davinson Sanchez sought out Roma fitness coach and former Spurs man Carlos Lalin and gave him a big hug, while Lucas Moura practically jumped into the Venezuelan's arms.
Jose Mourinho gave Lucas a big kiss on the head before the former Tottenham boss, and the job's current incumbent Antonio Conte hugged twice on the touchline.
Once the match had begun, the pleasantries were paused as emotions came to the fore. You had Conte and Ryan Mason showing their very vocal displeasure towards the Roma bench after some feisty challenges, and the Italian side's dugout hit back with similar shouts after various tackles by Cristian Romero.
