Tottenham Hotspur already have the perfect alternative after being turned down in their approach for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
That's according to former manager Jose Mourinho, who tipped youngster Dane Scarlett to be the 'new Rashford' while he was in charge of the club. Reports suggest Antonio Conte's side had their offer for the United forward rebuffed this week, but Mourinho's words could cushion the blow.
It comes as Alessandro Bastoni's agent has said his client "will definitely stay" at Inter Milan this summer amid interest from Spurs. And Antonio Conte’s decision to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan has been questioned by former Spurs star Chris Waddle.

Rashford alternative identified
Dane Scarlett could help Tottenham Hotspur get over the disappointment of missing out on Manchester United's Marcus Rashford if Jose Mourinho's past comments are anything to go by.
The Portuguese manager previously tipped Scarlett to be the 'new Rashford' during his time in north London in 2021. The former Spurs manager described the forward as an "incredible talent" despite Scarlett only being 16 years old at the time.
And Scarlett may well now be hoping Conte sees a similar future for him to the one Mourinho described after the club reportedly put a bid in for Rashford this week that was turned down.
Bastoni turns down Spurs move
Alessandro Bastoni "will definitely stay" at Inter Milan this summer, according to his agent.
The news will come as a bitter blow to Spurs boss Antonio Conte, who had hoped to reunite with the centre-back in north London. Conte has been keen to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer, and is particularly targeting a left-footed centre-back like the Italian.
But according to Bastoni's agent Tullio Tinti, the player is "happy" at Inter
Perisic move questioned
Antonio Conte's decision to buy Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan has been questioned by Chris Waddle.
The former Spurs and England playmaker called the signing "strange" due to the rigors of the Premier League as he accused Perisic of being "not the most physical player" who "doesn't have the best stamina". He also questioned the need for Spurs to bring in the player as he said it's "a little bit against Tottenham's policies to sign someone like Perisic".
