Tottenham and Man United to walk away from summer transfer unless £40m asking price is lowered
Both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will walk away from a potential transfer for David Raya unless Brentford lower their £40million asking price for the highly-rated goalkeeper.
That is according to the Evening Standard, who claim both Spurs and United are unwilling to pay the Bees' current asking price considering Raya has just 12 months left on his contract with the west London club. The Spanish international's agent Jaume Munell has also made his frustrations public, claiming that his client will leave on a free transfer next summer if Thomas Frank's side don't lower their asking price this summer.
"If Brentford does not lower the price tag for David Raya this summer, we’ll be ready to leave as [a] free agent in one year," Munell said last month. Tottenham are in need of a new 'keeper this summer, with Hugo Lloris set to leave the north London club.

Ange Postecoglou's dream Tottenham defence after 6 transfers
Tottenham's defence is very much a priority position for Ange Postecoglou and the club's new managing director of football this summer. Spurs conceded goals for fun during the 2022/23 campaign, with the 63 they shipped in the league a major reason for the team missing out on European qualification.
That has to be put right immediately or else it will be another long season for everyone connected with Tottenham. Operating with a back three and wing-backs during Antonio Conte's time as head coach, Tottenham will revert to a back four under Postecoglou as his preferred formation is 4-3-3.
So what exactly could Postecoglou's dream Tottenham defence look like come the start of the new season? football.london takes a look below.
Hugo Lloris Tottenham replacement named and why Man Utd may make quick Harry Kane transfer move
Former Tottenham striker Louis Saha has called on the club to replace Hugo Lloris with Jordan Pickford this summer. Now set to enter the final year of his Spurs contract, an exit for the long-serving player appears to be on the cards as he has stated his desire to try new things.
Brentford ace David Raya has been heavily linked with a move across London as he will also soon enter the final year of his contract, with Pickford another to be mentioned in regards to a switch to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While the England shot-stopper would come at some cost after recently penning a new long-term contract with Everton, Saha believes that Pickford has all the qualities to fill the "massive gap" Lloris will leave.
"I would like to see Jordan Pickford replace Hugo Lloris at Tottenham," said the Frenchman when speaking to Betway. "Pickford has the confidence to fill the massive gap that Lloris will leave. It's all down to the changes Tottenham wants and the new faces they want to bring in.
"It's a shame Lloris is leaving, but if Pickford wants to reach the next level, Tottenham could be the place to do it. Ange Postecoglou might like this opportunity to replace a big name in the club, the same with Harry Kane, and bring in ambitious players like Pickford who have different types of qualities.
"Pickford has done his job in the best way possible, he's saved Everton from relegation twice. As a fan, it's a horrible position to be in because I'm sure they were thinking of trying to get European football. I think whatever Pickford's decision is, it will be respected by the club."
