Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Wednesday, March 2, as Spurs failed to reach the FA Cup Quarter-final last night following an extra-time defeat to Middlesbrough.
Kessie twist
Aston Villa have surprisingly made a ‘very interesting’ offer for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The Ivorian international has been heavily linked with both Spurs and north London rivals Arsenal in recent times, but Villa have now joined the race to sign him.
However, it's believed that Kessie is more inclined to accept Barcelona's proposal because he's convinced by the current project under new boss Xavi.
Spurs out of FA Cup
Tottenham were defeated 1-0 AET by Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.
A 107th minute goal from Josh Coburn condemned Spurs to another season without silverware.

Kane urged to leave
Former Spurs star Gus Poyet has told Harry Kane to make the 'strong' decision to replicate Kyle Walker by forcing an exit from north London in the summer.
“I thought Harry Kane was leaving last summer, I was convinced," the Argentine told bettingexpert.com.
"When he didn’t, from a football side, I was a little bit disappointed because he made a strong call and then he stayed. I don’t know how they convinced him, but we’ll see in the summer again.
"If we look at Kyle Walker, he went to Man City to win and he’s won [several trophies since leaving Tottenham]. He’s the player he is because he’s at Man City.
"I had the feeling that Harry Kane was leaving, so I won’t put money on any situation right now because I don’t know.”

Gil opens up on Spain return
Bryan Gil was one of three Tottenham first team players who made the loan move abroad during the January transfer window.
Gil moved back to Spain, to play for Valencia until the end of the season, whilst Giovani Lo Celso is playing for Villarreal and Tanguy Ndombele returned to Lyon.
The winger made the move to Spurs in last summer's transfer window, in a swap deal involving Erik Lamela, so it was a shock to some that six months later he was leaving N17.
The 21-year-old has now spoken about the move back to his home country.
"I came to Valencia to be able to fight to play matches like this," Gil explained to AS, via Sport Witness. "For me, winning a title at my age would be a dream and I knew that Valencia was in the fight to reach the final.
"At Tottenham I wasn’t playing the minutes that every player wants and here they told me that if I earned them, I would have them."
