Emerson Royal insists he is happy at Tottenham.
The player’s agent and father had floated the idea of the Brazilian leaving this summer, citing Real Madrid as a potential destination.
Emerson Zulu claimed there was a “great possibility” his client would leave north London at the end of the season after a miserable campaign for Spurs.
After a difficult start to life in the English capital following a move from Barcelona in the summer of 2021, the 24-year-old had started establish himself in the first-team more regularly until a recent injury.
Spurs also signed Pedro Porro in January and will have Djed Spence available for selection once his loan spell at Rennes ends this summer.
Still, despite the competition for places, Royal has stressed he remains committed to the cause at Spurs.
“Although he is entitled to his own opinion, I have never spoken to him about it and I have always made it clear that I am happy at Tottenham,” he said.
“As a professional athlete, I am proud to represent the team that believed in me and gave me the opportunity to showcase my skills.”
Royal is not expected back for Thursday’s visit of Manchester United as Spurs attempt to get their season back on track following Sunday’s dismal 6-1 loss at Newcastle.
