Tottenham news: Conte delivers verdict on 'Lasagnegate' as Klopp speaks on race for Golden Boot

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Saturday, May 21.

Conte's 'Lasagnegate' comments

Spurs manager Antonio Conte delivered his honest verdict on the infamous 'Lasagnegate' food poisoning that cost the Lillywhites the top-four on the final day of the 2005/06 season.

"I don't want to know this story", the former Chelsea boss said when asked about the incident. "It’s not a lucky story.

"I’m not interested to know! (Laughs) To go deep in this story.

"We are in a good moment of form this week and the team worked very well this week, we prepared very well. We have to be focused, to be concentrated 100% for this last game because you know very well because I don't know how many times I repeat it but in England there are no easy games.

"I remember in my experience as a player I had a last game lucky situation and an unlucky situation."

Salah claim

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he won't be taking "any risks" with Mohamed Salah in the final game of the season, despite the Egyptian international being the front runner for the Premier League's Golden Boot award, with Tottenham forward Son Heung-min just one goal behind the former AS Roma winger in the goalscoring charts.

Klopp gave an update on the injuries to Salah and Virgil van Dijk ahead of Sunday's match against Wolves, saying "Virgil is definitely not [fit] but that was pretty much clear before the game already that we felt that this is the game to leave him out.

"He has played a lot and at the moment with it being Saturday-Tuesday again, it was clear that they're both OK. So the target for both is that they can both be involved at the weekend [against Wolves], properly involved on the bench or starting or whatever."

He added: "We actually understand 100% the goalscoring battle with Son Heung-min, but there's no chance we take any risk. Mo doesn't want to take any risks, I've no doubt about that."

Kane update

Harry Kane should be fit to play against Norwich City, according to Tottenham boss Antonio Conte.

When asked if the England captain will feature against the Canaries, Conte said: "Yeah for sure. Also because in the last game we had Deki (Kulusevski) had this problem - he didn’t have training with us on Saturday but on Sunday he was good to play.

"For sure Harry doesn’t want to miss this type of game. This game means a lot for everybody," said the Italian on if the striker will be fit for Sunday.

He added: "If you remember the last game against Burnley we had four cases with stomach problems. This week I have to be honest we had a couple of cases about this, but we overcame this situation.

"Also members of the staff for one day they were not feeling so good. I don't know why but the last week and also this week we faced this situation."
