Christian Eriksen is set to break the promise he made to Tottenham Hotspur chiefs when he left for Inter Milan.
The Denmark international is set to join Premier League rivals Manchester United after verbally agreeing a move to become part of Erik ten Hag's Old Trafford rebuild. But the move is unlikely to go down too well with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy following a conversation between him and Eriksen ahead of his departure in 2020.
It comes as Lionel Messi has been told even he would not get into Antonio Conte's starting XI next season. And former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has admitted he is "jealous" or Tottenham's business in the transfer market this summer.

Eriksen breaks Spurs promise
Christian Eriksen will go back on his word when he finally seals his move to Manchester United.
The midfielder has verbally agreed in principle to join United, with a three-year deal being prepared. But the move is unlikely to please Daniel Levy, after Eriksen previously promised the Spurs chief he would not go on to sign for one of their Premier League rivals when he departed for Inter Milan in 2020.
But with the move now thought to be imminent, it appears Eriksen is about to break that promise.
Messi message sent
Lionel Messi has been told he would not get into Antonio Conte's starting XI at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Argentinian has won an incredible seven Ballon d'Or trophies during a glittering playing career, but has struggled since swapping Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain a year ago. And now, according to former England international Danny Mills, his powers may now be on the decline.
The former Leeds United full-back thinks Spurs "wouldn't take him" – and neither would the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Wright "jealous" of Spurs
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has admitted he has been made "jealous" by Tottenham's dealings in the transfer market this summer.
Spurs have brought in Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma but appear far from done, with Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet due to finalise his loan move any day now. Now, per football.london, Wright has admitted "you can’t not be jealous of that summer" as he spoke about the two clubs' dealings so far.
And he's added that he thinks Spurs will "cause problems" next season and that "they are frightening".
