The now Sky Sports pundit has questioned whether Spurs have what it takes to finish fourth in the Premier League without world-class striker Kane. Merson has labelled the club a "one man team" and believes that the Gunners will leapfrog their north London rivals.
"As soon as he has one of those off-days Spurs will slip up and Arsenal will pounce," Merson wrote in his Daily Star column with a north London derby still to come.
Cole predicts top four
Ex-England and Chelsea winger Joe Cole has added his voice to the many tipping Arsenal to finish above Tottenham.
Last week's win over Newcastle United moved Spurs into fourth place, above Arsenal with less than 10 games remaining. The Gunners have a game in hand though the two clubs meet in the league in May. Cole has said that London clubs will occupy third and fourth but Spurs won't be one of the teams.
"I think it will be Chelsea and Arsenal in those last two positions," the former England international told JOE.
