Tottenham news: Ange Postecoglou responds to Celtic talk as Daniel Levy targets Fulham star

Your morning Tottenham digest on Sunday, May 28.

Postecoglou stance

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has responded to recent reports linking him with the Tottenham job. It's been said the Austrian is being strongly considered by Spurs and is seen as one of the main candidates.

Following Celtic's final game of the Scottish Premier League game of the season, Postecoglou was quizzed on his cryptic messages on the job. “There’s nothing cryptic in my messages, we’ve got one game to go. I’m not talking about next year until we win next week,” he told Sky after beating Aberdeen 5-0.

“I'm not gonna pass up the opportunity to do something special, to do a treble”.

Tottenham's fate will all come down to what happens in the game at Villa Park as Aston Villa take on Brighton & Hove Albion. Spurs will pip Villa to seventh if they win at Leeds and Unai Emery's side do not record a victory against the Seagulls.

As both Tottenham and Aston Villa are both on +4 in terms of goal difference, a point would be enough to see the Lilywhites qualify for Europe providing that Villa lose against Brighton and Brentford do not beat Man City.

A defeat for Tottenham, however, and there will be no European football to look forward to next season as they would not be able to finish above Aston Villa.
