Ivan Perisic, Skipp, Clement Lenglet: Tottenham injury news and expected return dates vs Chelsea

Tottenham are all set for their first away game of the Premier League season as they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea. Following a thumping win against Southampton last weekend, Antonio Conte's side are looking in decent shape for the London derby.

Conte will have a strong squad to choose from with only a couple of injury problems heading into the second game of the season against Thomas Tuchel's team - with the mind games already under way from the Chelsea boss.

But who will be available as the Spurs boss look to tackle a huge game in just the second week of the season? Well, on the plus side? Here is the latest injury news.

Ivan Perisic

The Croatian international was signed from Inter this summer while still carrying an injury picked up on the final day of last season.

He was hoping to be back and starting for the clash against Southampton, but had to settle for a place on the bench.

The 33-year-old may have a difficult time forcing his way into a starting role now as well, with Ryan Sessegnon impressing in the wing-back role as he scored one and could have added another against Southampton.

Perisic is, however, now in contention to start, and that can only be a good thing for competition in the Tottenham squad.

Oliver Skipp

Skipp will unfortunately be missing for a little while longer after looking set to challenge for a starting role in Conte's side for the beginning of the Premier League campaign.

With his freak injury keeping him out of the opener against Southampton, he's still a little way from a return to first-team training, let alone challenging for a starting role.

What Conte said

"Skipp needs a couple of weeks before being available. All the other players are good."

Clement Lenglet

Like Perisic, Lenglet started the Southampton clash on the bench before being introduced in the last five minutes for his Spurs debut.

However, after looking set to challenge Ben Davies for the starting role on the left side of central defence, he will be kept out of the clash against Chelsea with a combination of fatigue and a muscle problem - though only as a precaution.

What Conte said

"A little problem with Clement Lenglet. I don't think he is available for the game against Chelsea or for sure the next game against Wolverhampton [Wanderers]. He had a little problem of fatigue and he's a bit tired in his adductor. Nothing serious, only a precaution but it's not good to take a stupid risk for one game. He's having training sessions apart but I think it's good for him to recover well and to have a good training session before he comes back with us."
