Tottenham Hotspur have been handed mixed news on the injury front ahead of Saturday's clash with Leeds United. Spurs are set to be without both Heung-Min Son and Cristian Romero, but could welcome back Richarlison to the squad after Dejan Kulusevski's return against Liverpool.
Son is in a race against time to be fit for the World Cup after undergoing surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye he picked up in the Champions League win at Marseille. Romero, meanwhile is expected to be ready for Argentina's opening game against Saudi Arabia but is expected to miss the clash with Leeds at the weekend, according to the Evening Standard.
Speaking on Son's injury in his post-Liverpool presser, Antonio Conte said: "With Sonny, I sent him a message after the surgery. Sonny was really, really disappointed with this situation but I hope for him to recover very well and to play in the World Cup because I was a player and I know the importance of the World Cup. He missed us tonight. I'm confident that he can come back quickly and play in the World Cup. He's not in hospital now he's home."

Spurs were finally buoyed by the return of Kulusevski to the squad against Liverpool after six games out with a thigh injury. Kulusevski made an instant impact against the Reds, providing an assist for Harry Kane and his comeback comes at the perfect time given Son's absence.
And Conte could welcome back another attacker to the squad for the match with Leeds as he revealed on Sunday that Richarlison is likely to return to training this week.
He told SPURSPLAY : "It was good to see Deki back, yes, finally. It was important, good news. Deki only had a full training session with us yesterday. Today, he said to me, 'okay, coach, for the last 20, 30 minutes, I'm available'. At the end, my first question (to him) was, 'is everything okay?' and he told me, 'yes'.
“Now we have Richarlison [on Monday], probably, probably, he could have a training session with us, so that’s also good news for us.”
