After a quiet opening to the month, Tottenham ramped up their January transfer window business in the closing embers, although it was mostly departures from north London. As football.london reported ahead of the winter window, Spurs were targeting a new attacker and right wing-back and despite the disappointment from fans more acquisitions weren't made, the planned targets have been met.
First it was the arrival of Arnaut Danjuma on a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season that is believed to stand at £27million. All attention then shifted to number one right-wing back target Pedro Porro.
The transfer looked to be sealed a few days before the end of the window but the move very nearly collapsed due to Sporting changing a financial term. However, the issues were resolved and another loan with obligation to buy, which sits at €45m (£39.5m), was put in place. football.london understands the deal was structured as a loan to fit in with Sporting's financial commitments as the Portuguese club need it to show in the next financial year

Temporary deadline day outgoings were also rather prominent with Djed Spence following Bryan Gil in sealing a loan exit with the summer signing joining Rennes, while Gil linked up with his old club Sevilla. football.london also reported on Tuesday morning that Doherty was closing in on a loan move to Atletico, with no option or obligation to buy. However, a FIFA ruling meant that a temporary exit wasn't possible, with clubs only permitted to send out a maximum of eight players on loan per season - a quota that Spurs have already filled.
This meant the former Wolves wing-back agreed a mutual contract termination with the club so he could sign for the Spanish giants. A quiet start turned into a busy end for Tottenham as Antonio Conte now knows the full squad available to him to push for a second consecutive top four finish. Here's all their completed work for January.
