Tottenham have confirmed that summer signing Richarlison will wear the number nine shirt for the 2022-23 season after they completed the transfer of the Brazilian from Everton.
Antonio Conte made Richarlison his fourth signing of the summer last week, with the fee potentially rising to £60 million with add-ons. He joins Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic through the door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Conte prepares his side for the return of Champions League football.
Despite having a star-studded front-line, the number nine shirt has remained absent since Gareth Bale donned it during his time on loan in 2020-21. The last permanent player to wear the shirt for Spurs was famous flop Vincent Janssen way back in 2016-17.
