Tottenham have confirmed the appointment of Gretar Steinsson as the club's new performance director. The former Premier League player will now work alongside Fabio Paratici as part of a freshly put together recruitment team.
Steinsson won't be the only new addition at Tottenham this summer, however, as Andy Scoulding is also due to arrive as his assistant, with both highly-rated recruitment specialists taking on remits across both the first team and academy. Steinsson was previously the head of recruitment and development for three years at Everton, having been technical director of Fleetwood Town for four years before that.
Scoulding, who will begin work at Tottenham a little later this summer, will join from Rangers, where he was head of scouting for four years, following previous positions the London-born specialist had with the FA, Salford City, Olympiacos and Valencia. Following a number of transfer misses in the past, the duo will work alongside Paratici and look to improve the club's recruitment processes from top to bottom.
