A number of players will very likely be heading out of the exit door at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer as the club gets set for the 2023/24 campaign. Now, with Ange Postecoglou at the helm following a very successful two years with Celtic it will be all change in north London as the Australian stamps his mark on the club.
Plenty needs to be done in the transfer market as a much-needed rebuild must take place in order to help the club get back on track. While, of course, all eyes will be on incomings this summer as is always the case ahead of a new season, outgoings are also going to be vitally important.
After moving on the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Steven Bergwijn and Jack Clarke on permanent deals 12 months ago, 11 players exited the club on loan with regular first-team opportunities just not there for them. Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Dane Scarlett were just some of those who departed on temporary deals as they headed elsewhere.
So who exactly could exit on loan for the 2023/24 campaign? football.london takes a look below.
In terms of those who headed out on loan last season, a lot may depend on if they are to become part of Postecoglou's first-team plans or if permanent exits come to fruition. If Ndombele is not to figure in the head coach's thinking then Tottenham quite simply need to move him on.
As clubs may not be queuing up to sign him permanently after not showcasing his best form for Napoli on a permanent basis, a loan move may have to suffice once again unless a club offers money that Tottenham deem acceptable. While you would imagine Giovani Lo Celso shouldn't be short of options for a permanent move, it remains to be seen what will happen with Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks.

Bryan Gil could also potentially be a candidate for a loan move once again if regular game time is to elude him at Tottenham. However, a new manager could represent a fresh start and finally give him the opportunity to play regularly that he has craved since moving from Sevilla.
Other first-team members who could also seal loan moves include Ryan Sessegnon, Pape Matar Sarr and Djed Spence. With Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order, Sessegnon may seek a loan move if he isn't going to play week in, week out under Postecoglou.
After another year of injury woes, the 23-year-old needs to be playing on a weekly basis to help get his career back on track. Sarr would maybe also benefit from a loan deal after playing a bit-part role last campaign.
Currently behind players such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Oliver Skipp in the midfield pecking order, Sarr's short-term future will ultimately all depend on Postecoglou's plans for hm.
Spence's move from Middlesbrough last summer, which was for an initial £12.5million, didn't go according to plan and he ended up finishing the season in France with Rennes due to limited opportunities at Tottenham. Likely to be behind Emerson Royal and Pedro Porro to start at right-back, the England Under-21 international may potentially have to bide his time for his Tottenham opportunity to arise and seal a loan move once again.
Japhet Tanganga needs to be playing elsewhere next season after a stop-start career so far due to a number of injury issues. If a permanent exit isn't to go through, a loan deal must then be signed off. One of Brandon Austin or Alfie Whiteman could then depart for some vital experience between the sticks as Tottenham will have enough goalkeepers on the books if Hugo Lloris is replaced and Fraser Forster remains second choice.
A number of the club's youngsters would also benefit from getting a taste of first-team football to aid their development. Another year in the Championship would be beneficial to Troy Parrott after his time with play-off chasing Preston North End in 2022/23.
Now set to enter the final 24 months of his Spurs deal, it is a vitally important year for the Republic of Ireland international. Dane Scarlett requires another loan move as he started off well in League One with Portsmouth before his minutes started to dry up following a change of management.
Given how his spell at Fratton Park ended, it is imperative Spurs pick the right club for the starlet as it is no benefit to player or Tottenham for him to be watching on from the bench more often than not. Alfie Devine could also be set for his first loan spell away from Tottenham as he is now at the age where he needs to get consistent first-team football under his belt.
Destined for big things in the game after making a huge impression in N17, the ex-Wigan Athletic youngster, who may very well play a big part in Postecoglou's midfield three in the future due to the qualities he possesses, could thrive at the right club. Matthew Craig, who made his senior debut on the last day of the season at Leeds, and Charlie Sayers, who was with the first-team squad in South Korea last summer, are just some of the other youngsters who could potentially depart on loan to enhance their game.
