Tottenham's search to find Hugo Lloris' long-term successor may be about to come to an end. With the World Cup winner set to exit the Lilywhites after 11 years in the capital, Empoli ace Guglielmo Vicario appears on course to inherit his gloves going into the 2023/24 season.
Tottenham are understood to be growing in confidence that a move for the 26-year-old will be sealed in the coming days. Vicario, who has earned rave reviews in his home country over the past couple of seasons, is in line to join for a reported €19million (£16.3million).
If Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham do indeed get a deal signed and sealed for the highly-rated goalkeeper then they will have beaten a number of clubs to his signature. Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli and Manchester United are just some of the sides who have been mentioned in regards to a move for Vicario in the past, but it is now Spurs who will steal a march on all of them.
