Tottenham and Liverpool are eyeing a potential move for Fulham star Joao Palhinha in the coming weeks ahead of a potential transfer switch. That's according to transfer journalist Dean Jones in his column for GiveMeSport, who claims that a move is being eyed by the two sides, but Fulham have a clear stance on any deal.
"His consistency is almost unrivalled across the league for players in this position and it is understood that Liverpool and Tottenham are two of the clubs casting an eye over him at the moment," Jones said. "Liverpool had him on their radar even before his switch to Craven Cottage."
The Portuguese midfielder has enjoyed his start to life in the Premier League so far, having made the £20million switch from Sporting CP in the summer. While he may have expected to be in something of a relegation fight this season, the opposite has been the case so far.

The west London outfit currently find themselves in seventh, occupying a potential European football place and level on points with Liverpool. Given how tight the table is in the lower half, there is no guarantee that the Whites won't get drawn into any sort of scrap, but it would require a huge dip in form.
Part of their success so far could be attributed to Palhinha, who has seemingly gone under the radar for most in the division as the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic grab the headlines. The Portuguese midfielder currently ranks top of the Premier League for tackles made - and by some distance too, making 80 so far - 20 more than Leeds United's Tyler Adams in second.
Spurs' interest may come as little surprise then, given the need to strengthen in depth, though the central ranks may be somewhat stacked once everyone is fully fit. However, any hopes in landing Palhinha may be dashed anyway as Jones added: "Fulham know they have an absolute gem in this 27-year-old Portuguese international and absolutely do not want to lose him."
