Tory MSP Stephen Kerr's tooth falls out while giving speech at Scots conference

A Scottish Conservative MSP was left red faced after his tooth fell out while giving a speech on stage at conference.

Stephen Kerr, the party's chief whip at Holyrood, apologised to the delegates and carried on his speech at the P&J Arena in Aberdeen.

Despite the hiccup the MSP for the Central Scotland region saw the funny side when he took to social media afterwards to say his "crown fell out".

He tweeted: "I can’t quite believe my crown fell out.

"One thing definitely not to try on stage at a Conservative Party Conference."

He laughed off the incident to the Record: "It wasn't my finest moment."

He said he'd had the crown since going over the handle-bars of his bike as a teenager.

Kerr was addressing the crowd ahead of the Prime Minister Boris Johnson speech where he is due to speak about the war in Ukraine and Scottish independence.
