Tory MP Andrea Jenkyns sticks middle finger up at 'Bye Boris' crowd sparking fury

Tory MP Andrea Jenkyns was captured sticking her middle finger up at 'Bye Boris' crowds sparking fury.

The Morley and Outwood MP, who has now been promoted to Education secretary, was heading to Downing Street to meet Johnson and certainly stood out from the crown in a neon yellow dress.

But attracting even more attention to herself, she went on to stick her finger up at anti-Johnson crowds supporting the PM's resignation.

Jenkyns, a firm Johnson loyalist, shouted at the booing and jeering crowds: "He who laughs last, laughs the loudest.

"Wait and see!”

After news of the MP's promotion to education secretary, those outraged at her gesture to crowds replied with comments including “Can’t wait for you teach our children good manners".

Mr Johnson finally declared he would step down as his MPs deserted him, but vowed to stay on until a successor had been chosen.

The PM was forced to fill his top team after 59 ministers dramatically quit, expressing their lack of confidence in his leadership.

James Cleverly has been appointed the new Education Secretary and Greg Clark has been confirmed as the new Levelling Up Secretary.

Former policing minister Kit Malthouse, a longtime Johnson ally, has been promoted to become Chancellor for the Duchy of Lancaster.

Robert Buckland becomes the new Welsh Secretary and Shailesh Vara the new Northern Ireland Secretary.

Home Secretary Priti Patel and Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi remained in their positions in a bid to keep the country stable.

It comes after the new Chancellor told the PM to "do the right thing and go now".

Posting his letter on Twitter, Mr Zahawi said: "Prime Minister: this is not sustainable and it will only get worse: for you, for the Conservative Party and most importantly of all the country.

"You must do the right thing and go now.”

Hours after Mr Johnson made his resignation speech which appeared to indirectly attack a number of Tory MPs, Mr Johnson has carried out the beginning of a junior reshuffle.
