Tory councillor to host his own coronation lunch in Glasgow

A TORY councillor in Glasgow's east end is hosting his own coronation lunch for the local community.

Councillor Thomas Kerr is inviting residents to come along for sandwiches, cakes and coffee and tea in Shettleston.

The free event will take place in Shettleston New Church in Annick Street on Saturday, May 6 from 10am.

Conservative councillor Kerr said: “I am thoroughly looking forward to hosting this coronation event in my ward on Saturday.

“The coronation of King Charles is a perfect opportunity for our community in Shettleston to come together and celebrate His Majesty.

“I know that this event will showcase Shettleston’s community spirit at its very best and be fit for a King. Here is hoping that the sun is shining on Saturday.”

Councillor Kerr added: “Everyone is welcome – please bring along your friends, family and neighbours to celebrate this momentous occasion.”
