Tori Kelly discharged from hospital after suffering severe blood clots around vital organs

Tori Kelly is at home recovering after being hospitalised with severe blood clots around her vital organs.

The singer, 30, was rushed to hospital on July 23 after passing out during a dinner with her friends in downtown Los Angeles.

Sources have claimed that at the dinner her heart started beating really fast before she fell unconscious. Then, rather than wait for an ambulance to arrive, she was allegedly carried outside and placed in the back of a car before being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

While doctors reportedly said that they don’t know what caused the blood clots in her lungs and legs, she is now on the road to recovery, according to TMZ.

Sources tell the US news outlet that Kelly will receive regular checkups to make sure she is healing well, but that being discharged from the ICU and hospital was a huge step in the right direction.

While in hospital, the Grammy-award winning singer took to social media to give an update to her concerned fans and thank them for their support.

It read: “Hi friends, as you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges. It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers and can’t stop thinking about you. I’m feeling stronger now and hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover.”

She continued: “I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who have been looking after me. Of course I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first.”

The Standard has contacted a representative for Tori Kelly for comment.
