Western United will take on Brisbane Roar without Nikolai Topor-Stanley after the veteran defender received his second suspension of the A-League Men season for serious foul play.

Topor-Stanley was sent off in United's 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory after he leapt into a challenge for the ball with Chris Ikonomidis, catching the Victory winger in the stomach with his studs.

The veteran defender immediately received his second red card of the season.

The independent match review panel determined Topor-Stanley committed the offence of "serious foul play (e.g. when challenging for the ball)" and he received the minimum one-match suspension.

Topor-Stanley previously received a three-match ban for a red-card challenge on Central Coast's Garang Kuol in round four, which was reduced to two games on appeal.

The 37-year-old will likely be replaced by Leo Lacroix, who has completed his own suspension, against Brisbane on Friday night.

Meanwhile Sydney FC's English import Joe Lolley has accepted his two-game ban for a studs-up challenge on Danny De Silva during his team's 3-0 A-League Men loss to Macarthur FC.

The 30-year-old former Nottingham Forest star was sent off for the first time in his career for the challenge inthe Christmas eve match at Allianz Stadium.
