Topless Tyson Fury spotted outside Domino's in Pontyclun

Just picture the scene.

You're minding your own business, strolling down the road, and suddenly, without warning, bump into one of the world's greatest boxers, topless, who is out for a morning jog.

It sounds pretty surreal, but that's exactly the sight that greeted the good folk of Pontyclun on Friday as none other than two-time world heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury was spotted out and about in the village.

Fury, who bowed out of professional boxing after his recent win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley back in April, was snapped outside Domino's Pizza, much to the delight of many locals.

Posting a photo of the scene, one Twitter user said: "Tyson Fury being spotted having a tops off party outside Pontyclun Domino’s has made my day."

There were similar messages on social media channels throughout the day as other sightings came in.

You'd be forgiven for being a little confused as to why the 33-year-old was doing in Pontyclun, but Fury actually has some strong connections to the local area.

Pontyclun local Brendan Lyons, a close personal friend of the former boxer, is head Fury's of security, and his young son's exploits on the football field even resulted in local valleys football club Cambrian and Clydach getting a shout out from the WBC world heavyweight champion.

Lyons was, on this occasion, partially responsible for Fury's latest visit to south Wales, with his own Lyons Den Gym in Pontyclun hosting a meet-and-greet event for fans, giving them the chance to catch a glimpse of the man himself. It's believed Fury is staying at nearby Lanelay Hall.

Fury's latest public appearance comes amid renewed speculation that he might re-enter the ring, with former World's Strongest Man Thor Bjornsson seemingly calling out the boxing legend this week amid suggestions of a possible exhibition bout.

"I would gladly dance with Tyson, I would be honoured to share the ring with him," he said.

"I mean, I'm a man of belief. So do I believe I can beat him? He's a lot better than me technically, I know that, so as a boxer he's a lot better than myself, there's no doubt about that.

"But he has never fought a man my size, my strength and we all know in boxing it only takes one punch and I'm a heavy hitter. You just saw that against Eddie Hall, so I would just do my best, train my a** off and first and foremost make it a show for the people.

"I'm a believer and I would never go into any bout no matter who I fight with the belief that I'm going to lose. Even though my chances are low, I still fight like I'm going to war, I train like I'm going to war and that's why I've succeeded in life."
