A top Welsh football match was abandoned amid shocking scenes after fighting broke out in the crowd. Flint Town's Cymru Premier home clash with Caernarfon was called off after a brawl in the stand left a fan "seriously injured."
The Football Association of Wales will launch a probe into what happened in a game in their showpiece national league.
Flint were leading 2-0 in the crucial relegation battle at Cae y Castell when the referee called a halt to proceedings.
A Flint spokesperson said they "utterly condemn" the behaviour. The two sets of players left the pitch after the disturbance started with the game confirmed as abandoned half an hour later.
An ambulance was seen at the ground and North Wales Police have confirmed that a man had been taken to hospital as a result of the incident. A dispersal order was put in place in the area for 24 hours until 6:30pm on Sunday, April 9.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "A man who was seriously injured within the stadium during the incident has been taken to hospital in Aintree.
"As a result of the disorder, the match was abandoned, and a large police presence remains in the area. A 24-hour dispersal order is now in place in Flint town."
Flint addressed the incident on Twitter. Their statement said: "As a club we utterly condemn the appalling behaviour of a minority of individuals at today's game. We wish the two people who were injured a speedy and full recovery and would urge anyone with any mobile phone footage of the incidents to contact the police.
"We would like to sincerely thank the paramedics and the club stewards for their efforts in the immediate aftermath. Both clubs will be fully co-operating with the police to identify those involved. This is a very sad day for everyone connected with Flint Town United."
