Earlier this year, Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, held a meeting with White House physician Kevin O’Connor at the White House. The meeting took place in mid-January, as indicated by the White House visitor logs.
According to the logs, Cannard has visited the White House multiple times this year, with three recorded visits. The first meeting was on January 17 with O’Connor, followed by meetings with another staffer on January 26 and March 28. Over the past year, Cannard has visited the White House at least eight times, starting from last August until the most recent meeting on March 28. Notably, only the January 17 meeting specifically mentions O’Connor as the individual visited.
When questioned about the purpose of the meeting between Cannard and O’Connor, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates explained that specialists from the Walter Reed system frequently visit the White House complex to provide medical care to the military personnel working on the grounds. Bates mentioned that a neurologist visits the White House annually as part of President Biden’s physical examination. He clarified that Biden has not received neurological care outside of his regular physicals during his presidency.
Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre later confirmed that Biden had seen a neurologist three times during his presidency, coinciding with his annual physical exams. However, she did not disclose the names of the neurologists or elaborate on why Cannard had made multiple visits to the White House over the past year. Jean-Pierre emphasized that Biden has never been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease or received any medication for its treatment.
