A five-star review of the Bayeux tapestry (The Bayeux tapestry: a stupefying, thrilling, horrifying masterpiece that shakes the earth, 3 September). • While I understand Angela Eagle’s advice to “store … a bit of food that can keep you going for a while” (Report, 3 September), I fear that this will lead to the kind of panic buying that we had during Covid, when those who can, financially and physically, will stagger out of supermarkets laden with supplies, while those of us less fortunate will find shelves stripped bare. Perhaps we need to bring back rationing?
