Georgia Bulldogs are making a significant impact across the NFL.
While 15 Bulldogs entered the league as rookies last season, Georgia has a number of veterans in the league. Some of them are gearing up for an important few weeks.
Free agency begins on March 15 at 4 p.m. ET. NFL teams try to shore up areas of need in free agency, so they don’t have to rely on the draft as much.
Who are the top five Georgia Bulldogs in the NFL that are scheduled to become free agents in 2023?
1
Wide receiver Mecole Hardman
Projected contract (per Spotrac): four years, $41 million
Mecole Hardman won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs this past season. Hardman missed a chunk of the 2022 NFL season with a core muscle and pelvic injury. Will the Chiefs pay up for Hardman?
Hardman finished the regular season with 25 catches for 297 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Hardman also ran the ball four times for 31 yards and a two rushing touchdowns during the regular season.
2
Offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn
Projected contract (per Spotrac): five years, $77 million
Isaiah Wynn started seven games for the New England Patriots in 2022. He played in nine total games and played a career low 77% of snaps when he was active. Wynn primarily played right tackle this season. He has over 40 starts in his NFL career.
NFL teams are always looking for experience linemen.
3
Pass rusher Justin Houston
Projected contract (per Spotrac): two years, $11 million
Justin Houston can still rush the passer at a high level. Houston recorded 9.5 sacks during the regular season. He added a sack in the playoffs for Baltimore.
Houston has 111.5 career sacks, which is No. 27 in NFL history. It would not be surprising to see the Ravens find a way to keep Houston.
4
Pass rusher Lorenzo Carter
Lorenzo Carter signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal last offseason. Now, Carter is likely looking for a longer deal.
The former Georgia Bulldog finished the 2022 NFL season with 4 sacks and a career-high 58 total tackles. Carter also had an interception return for a touchdown.
5
Outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins
Jordan Jenkins has 25 career sacks, but he faces an uphill battle to get signed in free agency. Jenkins tore his ACL in August 2022, so he will have to prove he’s healthy before NFL teams will sign him.
